What at first glance might appear to be environmentally sound legislation can actually turn out to be harmful in ways not thought about before. A good example of this is the recent legislation designed to provide subsidies to companies that turn crops which had previously been used to supply food, to instead use those acres of land to grow bio-fuels. |
